However, the most relevant and revolutionary feature of the PS3 version of SingStar is the online service that'll allow for the acquisition of new content. Talking about user-generated photos and videos, we'd wondered what could happen if someone decided to upload offensive material. There will be a limit to the number of media you'll be able to upload and share, and the contents will be strictly limited to SingStar-related items, but nevertheless it's quite a cool feature. The SingStar Scene option allows you to browse through the pages of all the other SingStar's players, just like you'd do on MySpace.
On each user's page (My Profile) you'll find their name, game score and favorite band, along with the photos and videos they decided to share. (Unfortunately, you won't be able to use the beloved EyeToy instead.) Here people can share their performances in the form of photos and videos taken with the PlayStation Eye, the camera add-on Sony's releasing one of these days. Selecting My Media Gallery, we'll discover one of SingStar for PS3's new features, a sort of MySpace devoted to the community of gamers.
To play SingStar you need a microphone the good news is that Sony, even though it's releasing a brand-new mic along with the PS3 game, is keeping the old SingStar PS2 mics compatible too. The better the timing and pitch, the higher your score.
